About My Work

My interest in photography began in middle school as I started to experiment with the art form during school and family trips. Over the next several years, I became more adept with camera skills and genuinely started to develop a passion for the artwork I was able to create. When I enrolled in a photography course during my sophomore year in college, I started to truly grasp the knowledge of photography, its related elements, its messaging power and the impact that pictures can have on its viewers.

My introduction to film photography was fascinating and expanded my appreciation of the necessary steps in the further development of my photography skills. The entire process from taking a negative to developing a print in the darkroom exposed me to a different side of photography — one that has greatly improved my overall skills. I love film photography because it forces me to bring patience and planning of my subjects which results in a more thoughtful and rich form of art.
